Our Harrisonburg Stores

Our newest business, the MERCY HOUSE BUILDING SUPPLIES store, located at 1001 S. High St:
  • Provides local builders and homeowners a place to bring left over construction materials other than the landfill
  • Provides affordable quality building supplies for the community
  • Provides a way to turn unused materials into a tax deduction for local businesses and residents
  • All purchases directly support the Mission of the Mercy House to feed clothe and house homeless families in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

Our Boutique, located at 563 University Blvd, behind Sheetz, showcases our finest donations in a wonderful shopping environment.  Top brands at the Boutique include Polo, Nautica, Chico’s, Ann Taylor, Coach, and many more.  Our selection of house wares and fine gift items is difficult to beat.  The boutique provides our customers with the opportunity to access many brands not carried by other local merchants and continue to support the Mission of the Mercy House.

Our flagship store, the Mercy House Thrift Store, located at 1005 S. High St. is truly unique in Harrisonburg.  It serves many purposes.  They include providing a source of low cost and good condition essential items to the community, providing employment options to help residents transition to better opportunities, and also provides the savvy collector with a source of potential treasures.  In addition to sale items, The Mercy House provides items at no cost to members of the community in need.  Whether it be clothing, appliances, linens, or house wares and even toys at Christmas time, all employees are empowered to make decisions to help those in need at no cost.

The generosity of those who donate to the Mercy House is essential to our mission.  Recently, a very benevolent customer came to the Thrift Store with a late model used car and inquired about the possibility of donating it to a resident in need.  We were able to facilitate that transaction and now, one of our residents has transportation to maintain employment.
