Mercy House has two thrift stores, the Mercy House Thrift Store and Granny Long Legs. These stores support 21% of the shelter's expenses. Through generous donations from the community, these stores are able to provide for families facing tragedies such as fires, flooding and other natural disasters. Goods from these stores are also given to families as they leave the shelter to help them furnish their new homes. Additionally, Mercy House thrift stores provide 500 to 700 used books every year to be distributed at the Kids' Book Festival.
