Mercy House needs volunteers in a variety of capacities.  Call the office at (540) 432-1812 or email respective persons below to get involved.

Tutoring Program

Mercy House is looking for area college students or interested adults to help tutor children after school.  The tutoring program is Monday through Thursday from 3:30-5:00 p.m.  Tutoring will begin on February 5, 2007 for the spring semester.  Contact the child services coordinator at Jayne@themercyhouse.org if interested. 

 

Prepare a Dinner

The Mercy House Shelter holds community dinners for the residents every Thursday at 6:00 p.m.   Dinners are normally prepared by a group from the community or college student organizations.  Generally around 40-50 people come for dinner each Thursday and get to know other families who are experiencing similar circumstances of homelessness.  To be scheduled to cook a dinner for Mercy House residents, email Sabrina@themercyhouse.org
