Business contribution to Mercy House…… $1,000.00 Virginia Department of Social Services issues a tax credit for 45% of contribution…. -$450.00
Virginia State taxable income is reduced by the contribution (thus the state tax liability for the amount is 6% of the contribution)….. -$60.00
Federal taxable income is reduced by 34% (or as high as 39% depending on income)….. -$340.00
Mercy House residents benefit from the full contribution.
Net cost to business is…….. $150.00

NAP is a state run program that offers state tax credits for donations to nonprofit organizations. To qualify for the tax credits, the value of the donation must be $899.00 or greater. |
|
Material donations are accepted at both Mercy House Thrift Store and Granny Longlegs. For larger items the Mercy House truck can be scheduled to come to your home or business. Please call the Thrift Store at (540)433-3272. |
